(Blog#8 & #9) Hosanna- God save us.
To be honest, I’m not sure how to start this next blog post. With the pain of the recent current events in our world and in my country still (and forever lingering) in the air… This post will be my prayer.
The song Hosanna (circa 2007 Hillsong United) has been on my heart… and more specifically the bridge. (Matthew 21:9)
Most of us have heard this song sang in our church services. The song is so powerful and melts away at the most callous of calloused hearts (mine formally being one of those hearts). But that bridge, though.
“Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you have loved me
Break my heart for what breaks yours
Everything I am for Your kingdom’s cause
As I walk from earth into eternity
Hosanna in the highest.”
— (Hillsong United, 2007)
Lord, please heal our hearts. Lord, thank you for sending your Son to make us clean. Thank you for that free, undeserved gift ; A gift that is made receivable to every man, woman, child, black, white, poor, rich, Jew ,Gentile: every person here on Earth. Lord, my heart hurts and is broken for the lives that were lost. My heart hurts and is broken for the many lives that were forever changed. Thank you for equipping me with the Holy Spirit as a guide to teach me and guide me through my days here on Earth. I want to love like you, Lord. I want to serve like you, Lord.
Hosanna- God save us.
God, please help our world.
